Hurricane Ivan Knocks out Long Distance Providers - FeatureTel's Disaster Routing Keeps Customers Talking

Major flooding from the remnants of Hurricane Ivan knocked out several major long distance telephone service providers including Qwest and BellSouth on Friday. Service throughout North and South Carolina was disrupted as Qwest (and any service provider who partners with Qwest) was down for the entire day. Within 20 minutes of being alerted of the outage this morning, FeatureTel switched its customers over to a backup system that routed its long distance service to an alternate provider in an unaffected area of the country. "That's one of the features of FeatureTel..." said Paul Levering, CEO of FeatureTel, "...every system we have has a backup - something very few businesses could economically afford on their own. The obvious benefit is that our customers were able to go on about their business as FeatureTel took care of their communications services."

FeatureTel Connects Patterson Dilthey to Advanced Telephone System Services

Patterson, Dilthey, Clay, Bryson & Anderson, L.L.P, is a firm of civil trial lawyers based in Raleigh and Wilmington, North Carolina. The 75 employee firm chose FeatureTel's FUSION service to upgrade their aging telephone system to a full-featured Hosted IP Telephony service. FeatureTel CEO Paul Levering Selected by the North Carolina Utilities Commission to Serve on Advisory Committee.

The North Carolina Utilities Commission has contracted with Research Triangle Institute to conduct a study of the Telecommunications landscape in the state. The Commission named 12 Industry leaders to help shape and guide the study. Mr Levering told the Committee that "FeatureTel would be honored to serve the Commission and the State with such an important project."

FeatureTel eased Empire Properties transition into their new space in the Alexander Building in Downtown Raleigh by providing a 'FeatureTel Ready" office. Empire employees stepped up from single-line phones to a Fortune 500 system without investing in a system at all - by subscribing to FeatureTel FUSION.

Alfred Williams & Co. Chooses FeatureTel to Upgrade its Communications Services

Faced with the prospect of upgrading their existing Nortel system just to continue receiving technical support, the staff at Alfred Williams & Co. knew they could do better. After researching different phone system alternatives, they found that a VoIP-based system would give them the most features and functionality, along with reduced costs and hassles for moves, adds and changes. "We change our showroom and office layout very often and IP Telephony makes moving phones a snap" remarked Bobby Koo, IT and Marketing director - "...but the high cost of a VoIP system made the choice difficult."
